Diana_GonzalezA 49-year-old Miramar woman was struck and killed last month when a semi-truck hit her while she was using her electric wheelchair. The deadly trucking accident occurred at 10 p.m. when the driver of a tractor-trailer made a turn to go southbound on University Drive near Miramar Parkway. The truck driver did not see the victim in her wheelchair and dragged her quite a distance before drivers flagged him down when they notice sparks coming from his truck.

The disabled woman was identified as Diana Gonzalez and she was often seen riding her electric wheelchair down the sidewalk. The truck driver was distraught after the horrific crash and is cooperating with police investigation. It does not appear that he was even aware that he hit Mrs. Gonzalez. After this deadly Florida trucking accident, friends and family are mourning the loss of their loved one and left wondering how something like this could ever happen.
